SUPERLATIVE THREADED ROD

The longest screw ever produced by the Würth Group is the M36 x 6000 mm threaded rod. In the true-to-scale illustration, you can see the screw compared to a 1,8 m tradesperson.

Größte Schraube

A threaded rod is like a screw without a head. Several such screws were produced upon special customer request by Sonderschrauben Güldner GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of the Würth Group based in Niederstetten, Germany. These special screws were used for plant construction to hold heat exchanger components together. Heat exchangers are used to heat or cool substances to certain temperatures, for example in chemical plants.

Other areas of application for large metric screws are heavy engineering and shipbuilding. Large metric bolts are also used in the energy sector, e.g., in the construction of turbines and wind turbines.

The Würth Group has many different types of screws in its range. Depending on customer requirements and application, the screws differ in diameter, material, surface, length and geometry.
