Business Results of the Würth Group in the 1st Half of 2006
- Trading group increases sales by 12.5 percent to EUR 3.9 billion after six months
- Operating result grows by 15.8 percent
- The number of employees grows to 53,006
Künzelsau/Hohenlohe Region. After the successfully closed business year 2005 the Würth Group continues writing double-digit growth figures. The sales of the worldwide largest trading company for fasteners and assembly technology based in the Baden-Württemberg town of Künzelsau went up by 12.5 percent to EUR 3.9 billion in the first six months of the business year 2006. Meanwhile, the Würth Group is represented with over 360 market-active companies in 82 countries of the world. Robert Friedmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Würth Group continues looking optimistically into the future: “Our good profit situation makes it possible for us to invest even more in the market and thus in our future growth.”
After an outstanding 1st quarter 2006, the Würth Group was in the position to keep the level of sales and to achieve a stable double-digit growth of 12.5 percent accumulated per June 30, 2006. All in all, the Würth Group forecasts total growth of ten percent and record sales of EUR 7.7bn for the year 2006.
The German group is also growing successfully with 10.9 percent compared to the same period under review of last year. External sales went up to EUR 1.51bn. The international companies of the Würth Group generated a growth of 13.6 percent in the first half of the year. The sales of the Würth Group International amounted to EUR 2.37bn.
Disproportionate Increase of the Operating Result in Relation to Sales
In the first half of 2006, the operating result went up by 15.8 percent to EUR 278m and was consequently with EUR 38m above the previous year’s value. The Würth Group is confident that it will succeed in attaining a new record result in 2006.
Würth Group has 53,006 Employees
As of 30 June 2006, the Würth Group has 53,006 employees on its payroll worldwide. This corresponds to an increase by 3,479 employees and a growth of 7.0 percent compared to the same time of 2005. The number of sales representatives went up by 4.2 percent (1,145 sales reps) to 28,284. The number of in-house employees in the Würth Group rose by 2,334 individuals to 24,722 in total.
Particularly Encouraging: The Number of Trainees at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG
In July 2006, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG had a total of 170 trainees. For the new educational year, the number of trainees is going to increase by another 100 at the company headquarters. In addition to that, 54 employments are planned for the branch offices all over Germany so that from September 2006 on 324 trainees will be employed with the company. Furthermore, 370 junior sales reps take part in a special two-year educational model of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG that starts on June 30, 2006 in order to also provide the sales team with the qualified staff they need.
