Bettina Würth Takes Chair of the Advisory Board
As of March 1, 2006 Reinhold Würth’s daughter is going to succeed her father in his position as Chairman of the Advisory Board / Reiner Specht will become new member of the Board of Directors of the Würth Group
Künzelsau – As of March 1, 2006, Bettina Würth is going to take the chair of the Advisory Board of the Würth Group. The Advisory Board is the supreme supervisory and control body of the market leader in the field of connecting and assembly technology. It supervises and advises the operative company management in strategy-related questions and approves the corporate planning as well as the use of the financial means. Furthermore, the Advisory Board appoints the members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Management as well as the managing directors of the companies generating the highest sales volumes in the Group. The outgoing Chairman of the Advisory Board and father of Bettina Würth, Professor Reinhold Würth, had already announced the change on the top of the Advisory Board of the internationally operating family business with 51,000 employees worldwide in November 2005. As early as in 1994, Reinhold Würth had withdrawn from operative business and taken the chair of the Advisory Board. Now he is going to act as Honorary Chairman of the Advisory Board and will stay the Chairman of the Foundation Supervisory Board of the Würth Group.
Bettina Würth (44) has been member of the Board of Directors of the Würth Group since 2001. The mother of four children had started an apprenticeship at Würth in 1984. Her career led her over various stations. Before she became member of the Board of Directors she was, among other things, the person in charge of sales, product and marketing of the Construction Division and of the regions North and East of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. In the position of member of the Board of Directors she has been responsible for 95 companies in 46 countries since 2001. In the focus of her work is the strategic planning of sales and personnel.
Dr. Reiner Specht as new member of the Board of Directors
When Bettina Würth takes the chair of the Advisory Board she will simultaneously withdraw from the Board of Directors of the Würth Group as of March 1, 2006.
The Advisory Board appointed forty-year-old Dr. Reiner Specht as her successor. The man, who was born in Künzelsau, started his professional career at Würth in 1989. Since 1995, Dr. Specht has been the Division Manager of the International Metal Division, and in 2001 he was appointed member of the Board of Management of the Würth Group. In this function he has been responsible for 16 companies of the Würth Line as well as for 20 companies in the field of trade. Within the Würth Line World the married father of three children looks after the Metal Division in 44 companies that are represented in 39 countries.
Further members of the Board of Directors of the Würth Group are Robert Friedmann (chairman), Rolf Bauer (vice chairman), Dr. Roland Hartmann and Dr. Harald Unkelbach.
