Würth expands corporate premises in Künzelsau Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG enlarges administrative building in Künzelsau by 2010: Room for an extra 300 additional office workplaces / Würth International AG expanding in Rorschach (Lake Constance)

Künzelsau/Rorschach. The parent company of the German Würth Group, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, will be expanding its administrative building at the corporate seat in Künzelsau from spring 2009 onwards. The enlargement will make room for another 300 office workplaces, with 100 to be occupied by existing employees and 200 by new employees. At present, approximately 2,000 employees work at the company’s seat in Künzelsau.

Peter Zürn, Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, explains: “Last year, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG became the first single company to attain annual sales of more than one billion Euro. And we are growing continuously. We are currently using the office space at Künzelsau to capacity and get by using office space at Würth Industrie in Bad Mergentheim. In order to reunite the staff teams and especially to have capacities for continuing to add employees, we will be expanding the administrative building in Künzelsau.”

The three-storey expansion building will be realized to the south and adjacent to the existing administrative building in Künzelsau-Gaisbach. After a one-year construction period, the new rooms are to be available from mid-2010 onwards. All in all, the company is planning to create an additional space of 7,175 m² with an investment of EUR 11 million.

The new building will be able to house at least 300 employees. “We aim to increase the staff of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG by approximately 2,500 by 2018 to then 7,500 employees. Approximately 500 new jobs will be created at our company’s seat in Künzelsau,” Peter Zürn said. In addition, the new building is set to include conference, meeting and seminar rooms.

Rorschach/Canton St. Gallen: New administration and training center of Würth International AG

Würth International AG and Würth Group Switzerland are also continuing to expand. In Rorschach, Switzerland, in the canton of St. Gallen, an administration building with a training and education center will be erected in the coming years. Starting from 2011/2012, customer seminars as well as training and further education sessions for Würth International AG and Würth Group Switzerland are to be held there. Würth International AG is planning to build up approximately 250 new jobs here. Chur-based Würth International AG currently employs 380 employees, while the entire Würth Group Switzerland has 1,150 employees on its payroll. Würth International AG in Chur was founded in 1964 and functions as a holding for the Würth Group’s market activities outside of Germany, administering the Würth Group’s central purchasing.
