Peter Zürn to be appointed Member of the Würth Group’s Central Managing Board
Künzelsau. Peter Zürn, hitherto Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, will be appointed Member of the Central Managing Board with effect from 1 January 2009. He will thus succeed Rolf Bauer, who will retire on 31 December 2008. Norbert Heckmann, who has been working for Würth since 1992, most recently as Managing Director of Würth Elektronik eiSos, will take over the post of Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG.
Rolf Bauer (63), who has hitherto been Deputy Chairman of the Würth Group’s Central Managing Board, will retire on 31 December 2008, ceding his duties as a member of the Group’s supreme operative decision-making board. The announcement was made by Bettina Würth, Chairwoman of the Würth Group’s Advisory Board, at yesterday’s staff meeting of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG in Künzelsau. Already on this occasion, she thanked Rolf Bauer for having driven forward the corporate group’s growth for 44 years, defining the company with his outstanding commitment. His main responsibilities include the Würth companies in the field of electrical wholesale, the companies of the Würth Elektronik Group and the Würth Group’s manufacturing companies.
Peter Zürn (47) succeeds him as a member of the Würth Group’s Central Managing Board. Since 1979, Peter Zürn has worked für Würth, where he completed his training as an industrial clerk. His main stations at Würth were the management of Würth’s international company in Australia from 1987 to 1990 and his ensuing appointment to Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG’s management. His particular responsibility lay in managing the Automotive division, for which he has been responsible on the international level since 1997 as an Executive Vice President. Since October 2002, he has successfully been in charge of the activities of the Würth Group’s largest individual company, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. Under his leadership as Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, the German parent company of the Würth Group has experienced an impressive success story. The Chairwoman of the Advisory Board thanked Peter Zürn for his outstanding commitment and his determination. Peter Zürn will enter the Central Managing Board with effect from 1 January 2009. He is married and has three children.
Norbert Heckmann (40), who can also look back on a highly successful career within the Würth Group, will succeed Peter Zürn as Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. In 1992, he started working in Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG’s Product Management department. From 1994 to 1996, he worked in China to build up Würth China in Tianjin. In 1996, he changed over to Würth Elektronik eiSos and was appointed Managing Director for Sales and Marketing in 2002.
He will assume the responsibilities of Peter Zürn as chairman from 1 January 2009 onwards. Norbert Heckmann is married and has three children.
