Würth Education Prize 2014: Apply now!

Künzelsau. The Würth Education Award is going into a new round: Until July 31, 2013, interested schools can apply with their projects for the Würth Education Award 2014 at the Competence Center Economic Education.

All secondary schools providing general education in Baden-Württemberg are invited to join in. Contrary to many other awards, the Würth Education Prize does not reward a project put into practice in the past, but this is all about an idea for a project that is supposed to be put into practice in the following school year by the respective classes or working groups. First and foremost, the project is intended to strengthen the students' thinking and acting along entrepreneurial and sustainable economic lines.

From among all applications received until July 31, 2013, six schools will be selected in a first step that will be granted professional advice and financial support for the implementation of their projects. After one year, the Competence Center Economic Education under the umbrella of the Würth Foundation will present the Würth Education Award, including another EUR 12,000 in prize money, to the best projects.

Competence Center Economic Education

In 2005, the businessman Prof. Dr. h.c. mult. Reinhold Würth established the Competence Center Economic Education under the umbrella of the Würth Foundation with the aim of further promoting the transfer of economic know-how. Within this framework, the Competence Center closely cooperates with the Department of Education, Youth and Sports in Baden-Württemberg. Winfried Kretschmann, prime minister of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, has assumed patronage of the Würth Education Award.
