Management Culture in Schools and Businesses – Developing Expertise – Promoting Quality” - Enrolment for the 3rd Executive Symposium of the Kompetenzzentrum Ökonomische Bildung (Competence Center Economic Education)

Künzelsau/Wolfegg-Alttann. The Competence Center Economic Education of the Non-Profit Würth Foundation is organizing an executive symposium for the third time already. Academic executives from the administrative district Tübingen and people in managerial positions working in businesses located in said region are invited to the conference taking place at Landhotel Allgäuer Hof in Wolfegg-Alttann on May 8 - 9, 2009.

It is the objective of the two-day symposium bearing the motto ”Management Culture in Schools and Businesses – Developing Expertise – Promoting Quality” to foster the active dialog between schools and businesses by working on issues of shared interest and personal contact. The participants are supposed to gain fresh insight in the subject of management culture and learn more about the line of action of their respective counterparts.

On Friday afternoon, the symposium starts with a lecture on "Management Culture - Taking the Example of the Handtmann Group of Companies" by Ruth Berg, training manager at Handtmann. From the point of view of schools, Peter Fratton, teacher and president of the administrative council of SBW - Häuser des Lernens - Holding AG will give a presentation on the issue of "Lead Me into Temptation. Fractal Management in School as a Business - an Example." Within the framework of moderated roundtables, the so-called “World Café”, the contents of the presentations will be discussed further in the course of the afternoon.

On the second conference day the participants will split up into six parallel workshops and work on subjects such as “basic principles and guidelines on personnel development”, “feedback culture and feedback instruments" as well as “customer and service orientation in schools and businesses”. One tandem each consisting of both a representative from a school and a business will moderate the working groups. Afterwards, the results will be presented to all the participants in the plenum.

The conclusion of the symposium on Saturday afternoon will be highly interesting, too: Prof. Dr. Sabine Boerner, chairholder for management, leadership and strategy at the University of Konstanz will talk about “Management in an Orchestra: Art without Artistic Freedom?“

The two-day seminar costs 85 EUR. This amount covers the seminar papers as well as catering during the two days. Interested parties can register on the Internet under www.oekonomische-bildung-bw.de or directly with the Competence Center Economic Education:
