Reinhold Würth receives honorary professor title from Óbuda University in Budapest

Künzelsau/Budapest. Óbuda University appointed Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group's Family Trusts, Honorary Professor of the University in Budapest. The title was awarded at the final celebrations of the Day of Hungarian Science.

Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth received the honorary title on the initiative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Security Technology Bánki Donát. The Reinhold and Carmen Würth Foundation has been supporting the teaching of students at this faculty for almost twenty years. Particularly socially disadvantaged university and college students with good academic records are supported with scholarships, grants and specialist trainings, the inclusion in various innovative development projects and practical training courses at the company's headquarters in Germany. Óbuda University honored this long-standing successful cooperation by awarding an honorary professorship to Prof. Würth.

The Würth Group started business operations in Hungary in the year 1988. Today, Würth Szereléstechnika Kft. is market leader in Hungary, growing in the double-digit range despite the economic crisis. In 1991, the company created and registered the Reinhold and Carmen Würth Foundation in Hungary. The Foundation supports teaching at universities and colleges, education in the fields conservation and environmental protection, disadvantaged children and youths living in orphanages as well as people living in homes for the elderly. Since 1993, the Foundation has been supporting the Hungarian University of Fine arts and since 1994 also the Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs. About 250 students have been granted scholarships by Würth since the creation of the Foundation.
