Würth - Partner of Special Olympics
Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for people with mental and multiple disabilities. Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy-Shriver, a sister of US President John F. Kennedy, today 5.2 million children, teenagers and adults in 174 nations train and compete in international competitions. The Special Olympics philosophy is very straightforward: to increase the self-confidence and acceptance of people with mental disability in society by way of sports.
Special Olympics is the only organization that was authorized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to use the term "Olympics" internationally. Würth supports this movement in many countries.
