EURO 2012 Qualifying Matches with Würth

The qualifying rounds for the European Soccer Championship 2012 in the Ukraine and Poland will commence this week. After the EURO 2008 and the 2010 World Cup, the Würth Group is now also sponsoring this current soccer event. The global market leader in the trade in assembly and fastening materials will be present in the stadiums with touchline advertisements at 110 qualifying matches spread over 15 months.

Getting your career started: 355 up-and-coming staff start their training at Würth

Künzelsau. With the new training year, 355 up-and-coming staff will start their professional career at 48 German companies of the Würth Group. The Group will, thus, employ a total of 899 trainees in Germany.

Künzelsau. The Polish sculptor Alicja Kwade receives the ninth Robert Jacobsen Prize of the Charitable Würth Trust. The award includes prize money of EUR 25,000. The prize will be awarded next spring together with a presentation of the artist at Würth House Berlin.

A rating of the Würth Group confirmed again and outlook revised to “stable”

The international rating agency Standard & Poor’s again confirmed the A rating of the global market leader in the field of assembly and fastening material, Würth Group, and verified the company’s above-average liquidity. The outlook was revised from "negative" back to "stable".

For the second time, the Competence Center Economic Education organized the Business Practice Program “WiPP-L” for teachers from 12 to 16 July. 35 teachers from the administrative regions Tübingen, Freiburg and Karlsruhe were given the opportunity to gain insights into business life at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. Würth employees as volunteers at the Special Olympics National Games 2010

Künzelsau/Bremen. This year, the biggest sports event for people with intellectual disability in Germany - the National Games 2010 of Special Olympics Deutschland - will take place in Bremen from 14 to 19 June. About 100 employees of the Würth Group are going to work as volunteers to support the event. The company will thus send the second largest company team of volunteers to Bremen.

Aachen. The Entrepreneur Award 2009 of the Business Club Aachen-Maastricht was presented to the Swabian entrepreneur Reinhold Würth at the Aachen Hotel Quellenhof on 13 January 2010. The laudatory speech in front of 500 guests was given by the former Federal President Dr. Roman Herzog (CDU).

Künzelsau/Rorschach. According to the preliminary annual financial statement the Würth Group reports a sales volume of EUR 7.5 billion in 2009 which corresponds to a sales decline of 14.9 percent. In a difficult global economic environment the Group managed an operating result of over EUR 200 million before tax (2008: EUR 545 million).
