CompanyAward presented to the Würth Group: "Exemplary customer-oriented sales organization and model of an intelligent corporate succession" – ManagerAward to Prof. Götz W. Werner: "Driving force behind the impressive sales and profit development and market-oriented shining example of corporate sense"

Bonn/Künzelsau, October 12, 2005 – This year, the Federal Association of German Business Consultants BDU e.V. presented the BDU CompanyAward to the Würth Group and the BDU ManagerAward to the founder and chairman of the management of dm-Drogerie Markt GmbH & Co.KG, Prof. Götz W. Werner. The awards were presented in Bad Honnef on October 6, 2005 on the occasion of a festive evening organized by the industry congress "Beratertag 2005". The BDU bestows these two awards every other year, and this year it was already the sixth time that they were presented to German companies and managers who distinguished themselves by outstanding business management.

In his encomium, the president of BDU, Rémi Redley who is also a member of the jury of six, explained the decision to present the CompanyAward to the Würth Group as follows: "The history and development of the specialist in fastening and assembly technology is truly impressive. The combination of tradition and innovation is a distinct strength of the Würth Group. In the opinion of the jury, the sales organization of the business deserves particular honoring. Würth built up a perfectly functioning and very tightly knit service system to be able to quickly and purposefully fulfil the wishes of customers all over the world." On top, BDU praised the Würth Group as "model of an early and intelligent corporate succession" according to Redley.

Honorary president of the BDU and member of the jury, Malte W. Wilkes, gave the laudatory speech for the winner of the BDU ManagerAward. The founder of dm-Drogerie Markt GmbH & Co.KG made a major contribution to the consistent and dynamic development of his company. Owing to the business' own quality brands, creative marketing and trustworthy pricing policy, customer loyalty to the dm brand is extremely high. Prof. Werner's leadership culture is based on such principal values as understanding and respect.

Instead of instructions, he opts for dialogue and giving the employees lots of leeway to make their own decisions. Wilkes: "The jury honors Prof. Werner not only as the driving force behind the development of sales and profit and the culture of values in his business, but also as a role model going way beyond the world of business."
