Würth Education Award 2012 - Apply Now!
Künzelsau. The Würth Education Award aims at bringing young people closer to economic topics. This year, the Competence Center Economic Education offers once more a reward for outward-looking school projects, which is endowed with a prize money of EUR 42,000.
All lower secondary schools, secondary schools leading to intermediate qualification, special schools as well as high schools in Baden-Württemberg can apply from now on with their business-based projects for the school year 2011/2012. From the projects submitted, an independent jury will choose six projects that are supported financially and accompanied by experts. In the fall of 2012, the Competence Center Economic Education will reward the best projects with the Würth Education Award.
"In the past years, we had project groups who elaborated an economic school profile, founded a catering company or produced school dresses", said Stefanie Wilhelm from the Competence Center Economic Education. "No limits are set to the ideas and the creativity of the project teams."

The Würth Education Award
The Competence Center Economic Education under the roof of the Charitable Würth Trust invites bids for the Würth Education Award every year, honoring outward-looking school projects on business and the economy. The competition was organized for the first time in spring 2006.
The entrepreneur Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth is the initiator of the award. He has been observing the economic education of young people attentively for many years, and gave a clear impulse by establishing the Competence Center Economic Education in 2005 to emphasize that more knowledge of business should be conveyed in schools. Within this framework, the Competence Center closely cooperates with the Ministry for Education, Youth and Sports in Baden-Württemberg.
