In 2010, the Würth Group generated sales of EUR 8.6 billion. According to the preliminary annual financial statement, the company grew by 14.2 percent. The operating result will total between EUR 380 and 400 million, thus exceeding the target.
The Würth Group managed to significantly increase sales particularly in Germany. The Group grew by 16.9 percent, reporting EUR 3.9 billion. As first individual Würth Group company, the Group’s parent company Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG succeeded in surpassing the one billion Euro mark within one business year (EUR 1.1 billion in 2010). The Würth subsidiaries abroad also reported double digit growth at 12.1 percent.
Compared to the previous year, the Würth Group considerably improved its operating result, which will amount to a value between EUR 380 and 400 million (2009: EUR 235 million). “This excellent result has not been brought about by a rigorous cost-cutting program. On the contrary: Our plan to put all our efforts into sales and to continue to invest in this field has worked out pretty well“, analyzes Robert Friedmann, Chairman of the Central Managing Board.
The number of employees increased by 4,551 (+7.9 percent) to 62,433.
The company will also continue its sales-oriented strategy in 2011. In addition to the expansion of the sales force, the company intends to open further branch offices in Germany and abroad. By now, craft customers can cover their immediate demand in more than 1,000 shops all over the world. “In 2011, we are also planning double-digit sales growth for the Group”, says Mr. Friedmann.
The company is going to publish the Würth Group’s certified annual statement for the financial year 2010 at its annual press conference on 18 May 2011.
