Groundbreaking Ceremony for Würth Annex in Künzelsau - Additional Investments at Headquarters to Follow
Künzelsau. Today, the Würth Group will be celebrating the groundbreaking ceremony for the annex to corporate headquarters in Künzelsau-Gaisbach. Said annex will provide room for an additional 350 office workstations. It constitutes the first step in the process of adding on to corporate headquarters of the Würth Group.
Robert Friedmann, Chairman of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group explains: “Business development in Germany in particular is outstanding. Now is the perfect time to invest in the future of our business.” The Würth Group, he says, is reporting double-digit growth rates.
The three-story annex will border the existing administration building of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG in Künzelsau-Gaisbach to the south. After a one-year construction period, the new premises will be available after April 2012. All in all, the company is planning on creating additional space of 7,175 m² with an investment of EUR 12 million.
The annex is the first step in the wake of additional investments at the location of Künzelsau-Gaisbach amounting to more than EUR 90 million in total. Friedmann explains that the logistics center of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG will be enlarged, too, starting in the spring of 2011. “Apart from sales, logistics is another core competence of the Würth Group. The investment helps us to create the basis for fulfilling our highly ambitious promise regarding performance and efficiency towards our customers also in the future." Würth will also expand the logistics infrastructure in Künzelsau-Gaisbach by a space for waiting delivery trucks on business premises. A sales outlet on the spot is supposed to make contact with the customers even more attractive. Construction of the already announced Convention Center will start in 2012.
According to Friedmann, the Würth Group is planning on increasing the number of staff in Germany by about 10,000 to then 28,000. “Approximately 700 new jobs will be created at corporate headquarters in Künzelsau.” Currently, Würth has 2,000 on the payroll at corporate headquarters.
