In January 2010, Saskia Oppenländer won the professional competition SkillsBW for Baden-Württemberg. Her discipline? PC/Network technology – traditionally, a male domain. She has been fascinated by computers since her childhood. “It made sense to pursue my hobby as a profession,” says the 18-year old, who is completing her traineeship as an IT specialist in systems integration at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, the Würth Group’s parent company.
