Currently, the biathletes are the German Ski Association's most successful representatives.

The biathletes succeeded in winning a total of seven medals, four gold and three silver medals, at the 2011 World Cup in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia. The winner of three gold medals and two silver medals, Magdalena Neuner, turned out the most successful athlete of the competition. With her tenth World Cup gold medal, she has drawn even with the Russian Jelena Golowina, and may now call herself the most successful female World Cup biathlete of all time.
